Proactive maintenance programs and improvements for your District’s facilities, equipment, and infrastructure are key components of our capital planning strategy. Taking a proactive approach allows the District to identify potential problems and develop long-term cost-effective solutions before minor problems become a crisis.

Below is a list of improvements currently in progress that will help the District provide the best possible service to our residents.

  • Budget: $500,000
  • Project Scope: Sanitary sewer manhole repairs and coating at Orchard Lakes, Old Orchard, Chelsea Harbour, Oak Lake Court, and Windsor Estates.
  • Status: The contractor has completed most of the repairs. The only outstanding item is the bottom of one manhole, pending sewer line repairs.
  • Budget: $4,500,000
  • Project Scope: Install 6 new blowers, control panels, and a new MCC at STP 1. At STP 2, install 5 new blowers and control panels, install new aeration diffusers, and 3 new control panels, Lift station panel, RAS/WAS panel, and a sludge feed pump panel.
  • Status: Work at STP 1 is approximately 75% complete; STP 2 is approximately 85% complete.
  • Budget: $5,192,000
  • Project Scope: Construction of a new force main along FM 1464 due to Lift Station 5 being at full capacity. Upgrade Lift Stations 6 and 11.
  • Status: The project was approved by the City of Houston. Several bids were received, with one falling within budget. The project was awarded to AR TurnKee.
  • Budget: $3,178,000
  • Project Scope: Install a new reuse line from Wastewater Treatment Plant No. 1 to Chelsea Harbour Amenity Lake.
  • Status: The project is in the design phase.
  • Budget: $550,000
  • Project Scope: Install a new reuse line from Wastewater Treatment Plant No. 1 to the FM 1464 medians for irrigation purposes.
  • Status: The project is in the design phase.
  • Budget: $292,000
  • Project Scope: Replace the well pump motor, clean the well, and perform deep chlorination.
  • Status: Four bids were received. The project was awarded to Smith Pump Company. Awaiting delivery and installation.
  • Budget: $1,000,000
  • Project Scope: Replace all booster pumps and motors, valves, and above-ground piping at Water Wells 1 and 2.
  • Status: The project is in the design phase.
  • Budget: $300,000
  • Project Scope: Repair five stormwater outfalls into Red Gully.
  • Status: The project is in the design phase.
  • Budget: $500,000
  • Project Scope: Replace piping and check valves at Lift Stations No. 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, and Detention Ponds 1 and 2.
